Brittany Country Gite offers you a choice of accommodation for two on our 3-acre smallholding. The cottage and barn are independent from each other and both have private gardens with sheltered seating.

We grow vegetables and fruit, keep free-range chickens, runner ducks, sheep, bees and, during the summer, a pair of pigs. We offer short courses such as sausage making and soap making and sell our own produce.

A short walk will take you to our 11-acre private woodland bordering the river Rance. The circular nature walk has clearings where you can rest and picnic in the sun.

The cottage is situated 15 minutes drive south of the medieval port town of Dinan, in a hamlet a few minutes walk from the village of St. Maden, with its school and 12th century church. The neighbouring village of St Juvat has a bar and a shop selling fresh produce, bread, groceries, beer and wine and is just a few minutes drive away. There is also a bar next to the entrance to our woodland which serves food at lunchtime.

Around half and hour's drive north will take you to the Emerald Coast with its rocky coves, spacious sandy beaches and turquoise sea. The same drive south will take you to the vibrant regional capital of Rennes, with its famous Saturday market and medieval centre.

You can certainly slow down here: relax in your private garden, spend time with the animals, sit by the beautiful wildlife pond, or sit by the cosy wood stove. Internet access through WiFi.
